The EcoClip Contest

logo_ecoclip_fr

In the framework of the ISLANDS project, the Indian Ocean Commission, along with Porteurs d’Images association, is organizing the EcoClip contest. Youngsters between the ages of 16-25 will be invited to express their ideas/opinions about Sustainable Development and the best existing practices for it on the island.

In each country of the Indian Ocean region, 5 candidates were chosen by a jury on the basis of a presented synopsis. They were then supervised by cinema professionals in making their films. This training to film direction extended over a period of two months. In Mauritius, it was headed by the director and producer David Constantin. In terms of equipment, the chosen candidates were given a mobile phone with an inbuilt camera.

The winner of each country is invited to the 8th edition of Île Courts – International Short Film Festival of Mauritius, and their films will be screened in regional and international festivals.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS (FILMS). INDEPENDENT CANDIDATES.
Youngsters between the ages of 16 and 25 who are not official participants in the training course can nevertheless submit their films as independent candidates. These short films will be considered as part of a different contest but still need to have been shot using only a mobile phone. The deadline for sending them is Monday, 20 April 2015.
La date limite d’envoi des films est le lundi 20 avril 2015.
