Porteurs d'Images
Founded in 2007, PORTEURS D’IMAGES is a nonprofitmaking association which aims to develop and promote the Mauritian film industry. The association brings together Mauritian film professionals: directors, producers, technicians, actors, scriptwriters,
etc.
The association organises an annual major event, the International Short Films Festival of Mauritius – Île Courts.
From 2014 to 2016, Porteurs d'Images was beneficiary of the ACPCultures+ programme, which is funded by the European Union and implemented by the ACP Group of States, for the project « The Archipelago of Cinemas - Île Courts-International Short Film Festival
of Mauritius ».
This project helped to ensure the continuity of the Île Courts Festival in Mauritius and to turn it into a platform for the cinemas of the Indian Ocean. It also served to set up screenings beyond the Festival, throughout the year and allowed the
development of a film education programme, "Focus on Youth".
Ile Courts Festival is a cinema factory in Mauritius.
- SEE - short films from Mauritius, the Indian Ocean and the whole world, screened in various parts of the island
- LEARN - training workshops for various professions in the film industry
- CREATE - production of short films and documentaries developed during the scriptwriting workshops
- MEET - Film Bazar forum, a place to meet and discuss with all the film professionals of the region

Film. Box. is a database of Mauritian cinema. It aims at presenting both :
- films produced in Mauritius, about Mauritius or/and done by Mauritian filmmakers
- and Mauritian filmmakers and authors
In the Indian Ocean islands, independent film festivals are building the conditions for a new cinematography to emerge in the region.
